I carry your heart with me
(I carry it in my heart)
I am never without it (anywhere I go you go, my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing, my darling)…
…here is the deepest secret nobody knows (here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide) and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart
I carry your heart (I carry it in my heart)
🌾 E.E. Cummings
I can take no credit for E.E. Cummings thoughts and feeling when he wrote this, but what I can take credit for is how these words have forever impacted my life. Mother’s Day has always been a fickle friend of mine. I’m so incredibly blessed with a wonderful family, but there has always been a void. My Mom.
I have written about her in the past, but this time is different. I’m reaching out to my ladies in understanding of those who don’t have a Mom present on this special day; I feel you. I know I’m not alone in these sentiments and just wanted to let my tribe out there know, you are not alone as well.
So let’s raise a glass to our angels in the sky and know they are cheersing us for the amazing job we are doing here on Earth. Let’s choose to embrace Moms, who may not have a Mom around, and let them know they are kicking some parenting butt! Reach out to those who have taken you under their wings as you know your Mom would have too.
Carry their heart, as they carry yours, and know they will be shining down on you with their pride, love, and admiration ❤️
