I recently just took one of those quizzes on Facebook, the caption read, “What season is your season?” It calculated my profile, and responded with the answer- Spring! This couldn’t be any closer to the truth! I love spring, the smell of the earth waking up from its winter’s sleep, the sounds of the animals outside in the morning. There is something about the Spring that makes me think of a restart, a new chance to start new things. Spring reminds me of my father- on early spring Sundays much like today, my father would be out on his tracker doing only God knows what with it outside, he was the king of starting new projects! I think that is what I like most about Spring, its a great time to start new things. And that is exactly what I will be doing!
This Spring I have a few things that I really want to get started on. We got a jump start on planting our seeds, I really want to start a hot box outside. I would like to be successful enough to transplant our young plants into a hot box to keep them growing, while we wait for Mother Nature to completely get Old Man Winter out for good.
This Spring I want to get back on track with my exercise. I have been on and off with struggles associated with living a healthy and active life style. I mean don’t get me wrong- I average about five miles of walking alone a day, so when I say I struggle, I mean struggle to remain constant in my exercise routine.
This Spring I want to move all the boys bedrooms upstairs and ours back down stairs. That wouldn’t be such a big job if i didn’t have a slight shopping obsession. I love to shop! I alone have taken up the master closet and the guest room closet! I have turned our balcony into my own personal walk in closet! This move will require much ambition.
This Spring I want to make it a point to get out of the door for work with less stress and on time!
Spring for me is like the true start to my new years resolutions. What can I say, I need a lot of time for transitions. I’m looking so forward to being outside most of the day again soon! Last year, I remember watching my boys playing in the mud outside last spring, I remember that feeling of what it meant to be a kid and playing outside all day getting filthy dirty and then coming into a warm house smelling of good things to eat and the smells of Ivory soap. The anticipation of nice weather approaching is invigorating. Spring brings with it an essence of space and clean energy.
