Tis’ the season to spread cheer, and enjoy time with our loved ones. This is a time of year I treasure and love to share; maybe even try some new traditions.
One amazing introduction we made this year was our Kindness Elves. Check them out here! They are beyond adorable, and I love the message they send. Our Elf was getting dusty and had lost its message I felt, so it was time to start a new tradition! And what better time than now. Cue the kindness. The attention to detail and fun thought behind these little gnomes I think will stay with my children throughout their adulthood. I can’t wait to spread the love!
Another concept we decided to start is giving a gift of an experience to our children. The toys were piling up, and quite frankly taken for granted, and what stuck with me the most from my childhood was the moments and special memories I had made. Fin has been excited to start soccer and CJ has asked to keep riding. Annalise, well she’s Annalise, and being all about everything we are just absorbing all the last moments of having our baby.
I believe the secret of the holidays isn’t the amount we spend on one another, but the love we give to one another. Watching Love Actually a couple of nights ago (again for the millionth time cause I will never tire of it. – definitely a top fiver for me) I find myself always touched by the airport scene. Where Hugh Grant is narrating. His words speak to my soul. The love that is seen and sometimes unnoticed, that’s the secret to this wonderful time of year. The family decorating the Christmas tree they just cut from a family farm. Hanging childhood ornaments and creating a scene of winter wonder all make for the perfect holiday, but what means the most is who you spend it with.
Love the ones who love you and enjoy this magical season of hope, belief, and pure light.
