Can you smell the freshness in that air? I know we had a rather mild winter, but lately the sun has been chilling out in the sky longer, the steps coming into the house are caked with mud, the air smells of fresh earth, and I COULDN’T be happier!
I am a fan of winter 100%! The peace of fresh fallen snow, the smells and warm glow coming from our windows, however the lack of snow and even cold air has left me feeling incomplete and unbalanced.
My family has had a winter season full of sickness and sinus confusion. My husband has had seasonal asthma, and my children have been hosting a breeding ground for every virus they came in contact with! I can’t help but wonder if this strange influx of unseasonable weather has lent a hand in the manifestation of germs. Is it possible that, like the ticks, with our decreased temps everything is in an incubator for germ pooling?
Regardless of strange weather patterns, I again will bring my focus back around to the spring that has sprung into the air!
I am so happy to get my little people and myself back into the yard, to hear my boys launching as they swing on the swings, to hear their giggles as they race past each other on their bikes in the driveway.
Most recently, is the creativity my oldest son has made with tapping our sugar trees! This morning we had our own maple syrup on our pancakes!
The sun feels so warm upon our faces and the bubbles last longer in the air. The windows are cracked in the car as we jam out to some groovy tune on the radio!
The count down to seed planting has begun, we have already re-potted our houseplants, and this weekend was a complete clean out of our house!
I have a major case of spring fever and couldn’t be more ready to rut around in the mud like a spring pig!
This also means crunch time on swim suit season and race season! Let the spring begin!
I would stay and write more but I ‘ve got a date with the road- time to pound some pavement, and get my training miles started!
Get out side and submerge your senses in our early spring fling!
