This will be short and sweet. Not because my 6 month old was not well yesterday and the only place he felt comfortable was in my arms, leaving no time for writing. Not because he didn’t sleep last night and therefore I didn’t sleep last night. Not because I had to drop my 3 year old off at daycare this morning and got stuck in the parking lot blocked in by fire trucks responding to an alarm misfire at the school. Not because I had to shuffle the younger to the doctor (it’s not Hand Foot Mouth – yay!) and then to CVS for cream (just a skin rash). Ha, because of all of those things.
Nevertheless, in my fog, I thought I could offer two kinda neat things that you might enjoy if you have a little one, too.
The first is a little more than neat, but only available for Connecticut kiddos: CHET Baby Scholars. Open a 529 account through CHET (Connecticut Higher Education Trust) and you can get $100 from the state. Put in $150 and they’ll throw in another $150. But when you sign up, you have to opt in to all of this and it’s not necessarily obvious. Check out the State Treasurer’s page for more info and to sign up.
The second is something I stumbled upon scrolling through Pinterest one late night and I’m bummed I didn’t know about this with my first child. You can get a Presidential greeting acknowledging your child’s birth by submitting a request before her first birthday. Check it out here.
So, there. You’re a little richer now, right? 😉 Happy Monday!
