I recently realized that the outer half of each of my eyebrows is missing. Missing! Where did they go? Is this just the miracle of aging? Because I’m pretty sure I had normal eyebrows for most of my life.
I remember when I was younger and working for an after school program, one of my favorite students, who happened to have a thick unibrow thanks to her Italian heritage, drew a picture of me with a unibrow. Although I didn’t actually have a unibrow (and I kinda think her worldview was just that everyone had a unibrow), I must have had a decent amount of eyebrow hair, right? I looked through some old pictures and can assure you that I did, in fact, have normal eyebrows at some point in my life (you’ll just have to believe me on this one).
Turns out it is aging. “Like thinning hair, sparse brows come with age, so they make you look older than you are,” says Eliza Petrescu, owner of Eliza’s Eyes in New York City, in a Prevention article. And the solution is simple:
Just kidding. I can’t get on board with the contouring craze. Kidding, again. Anyways, the solution is as easy as this little gem from NYX:
It comes with no instructions (eek!), but I think you pretty much just blend the two powders and use the brush included in the compact to fill in your brows for a fairly natural look. I guess it’s the same theory as those commercials where balding men would spray something on their heads then look like they have a full head of hair. Haha. Getting old is fun!
