Today is day 356 of the year, there are nine days left of 2015. Wow! It seems so hard to believe that 2015 is coming to a close so quickly.
I began the year contemplating a lofty (for me) goal of running 800 miles throughout the year. I stressed about such a stretch goal. I worried about letting my 2,015 miles in 2015 teammates down. I was filled with doubt much of the year and as I look back on my posts, I wrote about that fear often.
I searched for extra ways to motivate my running self continuously in 2015 with #NeverMissAMonday hashtag mantras and motivational jewelry. I absolutely struggled and struggled some more with my 2015 running goals. I struggled far more than I really care to admit.
However, much to my surprise (yes! SURPRISE) and joy, I accomplished my 800 running miles…and then some.
I’m not one to say, “if I can do it then anyone can” but if not for someone thinking that very thought, the 2015 challenge in 2015 would never have been born. I am still amazed that I was able to do it. Like really, really amazed; completely in awe of my own self. I would never have run these miles without Run the Edge and their “Run the Year” challenge. Thank you!!!
I’m extremely excited to finish up 2015 and continue on with 2,016 miles in 2016. I’m setting the goal a little higher in 2016, and I cannot wait to see what the running year will bring. Like the website says, “It might sound difficult but ANYONE CAN DO IT!”
Are you ready with your 2016 running goals? How many miles are you planning to shoot for? Here’s to a great 2016 year ahead!
