Hi, this is Nina from www.Mamabelly.com . I am so happy to be invited back for another guest post for Runitlikeamom! I am the Mom of four busy kids and as you probably know from my last post, I am always looking for quick, easy, fun and healthy lunch ideas. With the holidays just around the corner, I just wanted to share some quick and fun lunchbox ideas!
- Bread or Cookie Stamps
I am a huge fan of cookie and bread stamps. You can create easy, fun and quick masterpieces by simply stamping your bread! You can find seasonal cookie stamps almost everywhere, from your local supermarket to Target and Amazon.
I found these cute elf cookie stamps at Target a few years back. I packed a simple lunch of apple slices, veggies sticks and egg sandwiches and dressed them up with the cookie stamped elf bread, an elf cupcake ring and a small chocolate.
Santa sandwiches are a family favorite and super easy with a bread stamp. This lunch contains orange slices, popcorn and chicken Santa sandwiches. To make the lunch even more festive, I added a small Santa chocolate and a mini white chocolate candy cane pretzel.
- Cupcake Decorations
Cupcake rings and picks are available in cake stores, at Target, Amazon and more. They are inexpensive and a fun way to turn a simple lunch into a festive treat!
This lunch was a lunch one of my kids specifically asked for: A Hulk Christmas lunch. With a Hulk bread stamp, a winter hat cupcake pick and a Christmas tree cupcake decoration, this lunch went from Superhero to Christmas Superhero in under one minute.
Here a Santa and reindeer cupcake ring make a simple peanut butter and jelly lunch into a themed lunch in no time!
- Festive Napkins (paper or cloth)
My kids love taking cloth napkins to school to protect their lunchboxes and utensils from the sticky cafeteria tables. I try to send a cloth or paper napkin with every lunch. And they make a great decoration as well!
A winter napkin dressed up our Snowman roll lunch perfectly. A candy cane napkin complemented our nut butter and jelly candy cane sandwich lunch and the Christmas candy napkin was a fun accessory for our present lunch.
Doubling as a placemat, cloth napkins are a great way to add fun to your kids’ lunches and keep those lunchboxes off the cafeteria tables
- Cookie Cut Outs
Another fun and easy way to add some fun are cut outs. Simple cut a shape out of the top slice of the sandwich bread before you add it to the sandwich. It creates a great effect but only adds a few seconds to your lunch making routine.
This winter lunch features a star cut out sandwich, a snowflake cupcake ring and I spelled snow with some ABC cookies. Easy and fun!
Another star cut out winter lunch featuring a nut butter and jelly sandwich with cut outs, cucumbers, veggies sticks and two cupcake decorations.
