Dear Runit Community,
I am turning to you for some help in making a very important decision.
I am at a stage in my journey where I am ready to mix it up (no pun intended) and get a fancy blender/juicing machine to start incorporating smoothies and cleanses into my routine. I have thought about this for over a year now and have read articles and product reviews on both the Blendtec and the Vitamix blenders. Because these blenders cost hundreds of dollars, I want to make the most informed decision possible to make sure this blender meets my needs.
I would like for my new blender to fit under my cabinets which falls 18 inches over my countertop. This rules out the less expensive versions of the Vitamix (C series) as those blenders are over 20 inches long. The Vitamix G series blenders start are 17.5 inches tall which would give a half-inch clearance under my counter. After my review of the products, I narrowed my search between the Vitamix 7500 ($529) and the Blendtec Designer 625 Blender ($479). The Blendtec has a higher horsepower (3.0) than the Vitamix (2.2). The Blendtec has 2 blades that are not sharp to the touch while the Vitamix has 4 blades.
I would like for my blender to be able to pulverize the entire piece of fruit, (including skin and cores) for the benefit of convenience and high fiber. I know the Vitamix has a temper which helps move the food toward the blades while the Blendtec blender does not. Many of the Blendtec reviews state concerns of having fruit chunks in the smoothies.
If you own one of these blenders, I have the following questions for you: Which one is worth the money? Should I buy directly from the company’s website, Amazon, or in a store to get the best deal and the warranty? Are there coupons or great deals I should know about? How easy is it to clean? Which juicing / cleansing programs produce the best results for fat loss? What recipes are your favorites?
I am hoping your advice will allow me to finally make this decision so I can add some extra variety to my culinary world and help me reach my goals.
I thank you in advance for your help!
Ellen Stefanie 🙂
