I have three little girls…
and one BIG shoe problem!
Since my girls are so close in age, it has been easy to recycle and reuse shoes. My two-year old currently has three pair of Keens and two pair of Natives. My older daughters love shoes! Cowgirl boots, rain boots, sandals, flip-flops, running sneakers and sparkly shoes galore…the girls love collecting shoes.
As convenient and money-saving as shoe recycling and hand-me-downs have been, it has created space issues.
In our home, shoes are left on the first floor since that is where we take them off and put them on. It is impractical to store shoes in the upstairs bedrooms, it just doesn’t work.
With the recent changing of seasons, our shoe problem seems to have exponentially grown. We are running out of room for our shoes, and I can’t stand the clutter. As an impromptu, creative fix the girls created this shoe garden on our old Lego table. I must admit, it was cute and somewhat convenient at first. Now, we seem to have outgrown our shoe garden…and I don’t know where to plant all the cute little shoes.
We’ve tried wall-hanging shoe organizers, over-the-door organizers and closet organizers…nothing seems to work.
What works for you? Do you have any creative, and space-saving shoe ideas? Please help me out before our shoe garden becomes a shoe meadow!
