I can’t even believe how fast the past six years have been! I can remember the day you made me a better person. The first year of your life FLEW past! You came into our lives, turned our house into a home, and brought new meaning to our existence! Then, in the blink of an eye, you turned six, and in those six years you have amazed me every single day. You’ve made me so freaking angry at times, and then at other times, so incredibly dumb founded that I am your mother!
I have learned so much from you. I have learned how to stop and take things in, to really try to understand why things work the way they do, and you have even taught me that I need to eat more fruit- even if I don’t like it. You have taught me to push my limits, and understand when it’s time to walk away!
You have made me soft, and you have brought me to my knees, both with worry and with happiness! You have the most amazing laugh; you say the funniest things; you comprehend and are capable of making more sense than some adults I know!
You ask me so many questions – questions I don’t have the answers to. You ask me questions, and then tell me the answer, and that really pisses me off, cause you know I can’t stand stupid questions! You remind me that we’re not born with the answers, and then again- I’m left in awe of your response!
Your face is like porcelain, and your scowl is like rust. When you laugh even your eyes smile! You have a soul way beyond your years, your future will be rich with wonder and bliss, and others will follow your leadership, because you bring them comfort. The truth that lies inside you will take you to your fullest potential!
Your brothers will always remain your best friends, even if they hog the remote control and never give you any privacy. You will always have to remind your brother Wes of my birthday, because you will always be the responsible one which will drive your brothers crazy!
One thing is for sure, which ever way your future goes, or how I want it to play out, remember the number one lesson- be happy and true to yourself! As long as you aim straight, act in good faith, and be true to those who are true to you, you can’t go wrong! Respect yourself, and others will respect you! Most importantly – always remember that your mother loves you like crazy, and I can always see you- even when you don’t see me.
Happy birthday, my sweet child.
