Do you ever get that feeling where you wanna just lock yourself in the bathroom and not come out until the madness has passed?
Recently I have felt like I’ve been stuck in a tornado, constantly spinning, and the storm just won’t let up enough to let me catch my breath!
The struggle is no joke! The struggle to please, the struggle to move onto the next task, the struggle to make a P.R at your first race of the season! THE STRUGGLE IS REAL!
Again, don’t get me wrong- I love my life, wouldn’t change it for a second (not like I have a second to give up)!
In order to rejuvenate my soul and get away with the family for some quality time, we took a mini vacation to New York state. I talked to a friend who recommended a few indoor water parks, and found a Great Escape Six Flags theme park in Queensburg, NY.
WHAT A GREAT TIME! We rented a traditional suite with lots of room for the kids, and a kitchen for my very picky eaters! We spent hours in the water park, splashing, swimming, laughing, and of course, screaming on the rides!
We stayed up way past our bedtimes! We jumped on the beds and had pillow fights. We ran up and down the halls at night just because we could! It was a mini vacation, and let’s be honest- I’m a kick-ass mom, and as much as I mean business, I am also way fun to party with!
We spent quality time together and made the best of our short trip. I couldn’t have needed it more, and I’m so happy I took this opportunity to get away with my loves.
Life moves us so fast past the important things, and sometimes life just needs to be pushed against. Slow your roll, enjoy the small things- the giggles, the twinkle in your child’s eyes as they see you differently when they are having so much fun! I don’t recall ever seeing my mom run down the hall of our hotel wrapped in an american flag super hero cape! Man did my boys laugh! Plus, we passed the vending machines which had ice cream available 24/7!
I gotta say, those late night giggles and late night special treats are still topics of conversation since we returned home!
I really needed this release with my family, and I am so fortunate that I am able to provide my children with such opportunities.
I don’t want my job as a mom to be all business- I want to be my children’s super hero also!
