I’m going to make another admission on RunIt. And, I have a feeling it will be met with either disbelief or hatred. I have a problem I need you youngins’ to help me with — I have too much free time.
I can remember the early days of motherhood — just wishing I could go to the bathroom by myself, or thinking “can I get all the things I need to do done while I have two hands or one hour (alone) to get them accomplished?” In later mothering years I had tennis (and more tennis!) to fill my time around the work of a stay at home mom. I even went to a couple of tennis academies!
I was also still in the “acquiring” years of adulthood — looking for just the right light fixture or piece of furniture, or an outfit for an event — so shopping would fill some hours. I became a full time community volunteer to augment my tennis time. Then I went back to graduate school and subsequently, full time work, which pretty much left me with “less time” rather than “more time.”
But as life has it, I’m again in another “more time” phase and here is where your suggestions will be helpful, as I can’t remember all the things I wanted to do if I “just had time!” When you fantasize about having more time, how would you spend it?
Remember when you throw out suggestions, on any given day (depending on the weather) I usually spend about an hour walking the dog and another half to an hour playing with her (usually 15 -20 minutes at a time in the yard). Other than that, I’m open! Thanks in advance for all your great ideas —
