The day-to-day struggles are real! Some days the universe likes to throw a curve ball our way- whether they are positive or negative, it’s just part of our daily journey. I personally find that I process my day-to-day struggles best when I’m working out! Whether the day’s events left me vulnerable or energized, I simply function better after a good workout or trip to the gym!
The same thing goes for an inspirational of mine, Lori Segar. I have been watching Lori make her transitions from a woman in the circuit, to a face in the limelight! Lori turned her fitness routine into part of her daily routine, then turned her daily routine into competitive weight lifting!
This new competitor just took home the silver in her very first weight-lifting meet! This single (and ready to mingle!) mother of four, business owner, daughter, and sister is a dear friend of mine. She is one outstanding human being, and one of the most special people in my life!
She is a stand up, class-act citizen. She is intelligent, compassionate, patient, polite, dedicated, funny and grounded. I couldn’t more proud of Lori in her new hobby! Her children have a mother who is not only living life, but kicking ass while doing it!
For the last 7 weeks, Lori started her heavy weight-lifting training. She was first introduced to bar bell circuits, where she soon felt a connection with the workout, last November. She set goals, and stuck to them. She worked with her fitness coach, followed her health plan, and practiced!
Lori has personal P.Rs in the following areas- Dead Lift 250 pounds, Bench Press 115, and Squatting 125 pounds!
Way to go Lori! What an amazing feat! We are so happy for you!
Lori may not always have time to make it to the gym, but she makes time to make it to the gym. Whether it means grocery shopping at midnight, or folding laundry until two, she does it!
In order to have success you have to believe success is possible. Lori knew this lesson, and now she is enjoying her title and her silver medal!
Lori is a product of running it like a mom! The weight has been lifted and she doesn’t intend to be putting it down any time soon! If you happen to have the pleasure of knowing this wonderful person, be sure to extend your kinds words of encouragement and congratulate her! Lori is not one to toot her own horn, so I figured I would for her!
I PICK THINGS UP…
…AND I PUT THEM DOWN!
