You survived Monday! Congratulations! As a special treat, I hope you enjoy this bit of diversion:
I bet you have a mound of pictures and projects stashed away someplace in your house, with maybe a few special pieces displayed prominently, that your darling children have created. Of course, all of our children are the next Picasso or the next Georgia O’Keefe. But perhaps we can agree that they may need a *little* fine tuning in the form of art instruction and art history before their first collection becomes an exhibit at the Getty. Well… then again, maybe not. Take this little quiz to see if you can spot the professional artists from our amateur artists! (Answers at the very end.)
So, what do you think? Check out the artists below:
A. Professional. “Aquarel-la del pintor Damia Jaume” under license, by a Spanish painter born in 1948. Very pretty work, but you could easily confuse it for that picture hanging on your fridge, amirite?
B. Amateur. Preschool work by Lindsay’s children. This collection is beautiful, don’t you think?
C. Amateur. Picture by Patty’s daughter. Just lovely!
D. Professional. “Momentum” – oil painting by Marendo Muller, a Swiss artist. Or is it Patty’s daughter again?
E. Professional. Work by an Italian artist, Cazzaniga Battista Esponente.
F. Amateur. Nice work by one of Lisa’s sons.
G. Amateur. “What I’m Thinking” by one of Jenn’s daughters. This is really cool and imaginative!
H. Professional. Piece by Russian artist Lyubov Popova (1889-1924).
