A snow day is like no other,
It’s the gift of extra time.
A day free of “have to’s”,
A day of my own design.
Some reading, or napping, a little baking and crafting,
The day will be warm and cozy.
Some sledding and digging, a snow queen or two,
Then go inside and our cheeks will be rosy.
Hang all the wet gear up by the fire to dry,
and rustle up a game or two.
It’s these kinds of days, for me, at least,
That make the winter a little less blue.
