Do you ever click on the “trending” links that show up on your Facebook feed, or even the articles published by the less well known “news” outlets at the bottom of the MSN homepage? If you ever need a break from the mundane, I suggest taking a peek. Here’s what I’ve been reading recently:
Parents Face Bill after their Son Failed to Show Up at a Friend’s Birthday Party– Hey we all know birthday parties can be expensive, but would you actually invoice the no-shows? I really think this is crazy. Would I be annoyed? Yes. Would I take someone to court over it? No. Most likely I’d tell them they owe me a play date…and a drink.
Finally the FDA Admits that Nearly Over 70 Percent of US Chickens Contain Cancer Causing Arsenic– While this instigated a slight panic attack, I continued reading to find out this announcement was made quite some time ago. The reason this is coming back through the social media world is because the article was recently republished by a popular site. If you’re like me and anticipating nightmares about the arsenic, check out the FDA question and answer page here. I’m not sold and will be taking Michelle’s advice to heart, but it does offer some perspective.
Report: 11 Patriots Footballs were Under-Inflated by 2 lbs. each– OK, so just to be clear, I’m a Giants fan and don’t care much about Tom Brady and his deflated balls…but it’s trending and people are joking about it at work, so I included it.
Any good headlines to share? I’d love the distraction.
