I don’t know about you, but there are things, little things, that my husband does that really drive me crazy…no, actually, they piss me off! Does this ever happen to you? Maybe it’s your husband, wife, partner, girlfriend, sister, friend, teenager who do small, annoying little things that really get your goat?!
For as much as I love my husband, and think he is a wonderful person, sometimes I find myself wanting to pull my hair out at some of the little things he does, which sometimes I believe he intentionally does, just to annoy me. For example…
Paper towels! He carries them around, crumples them up and leaves them lying all over the counter, on the porch, in his pants pockets, which I have just pulled out of the dryer….ARGH! Do me a favor, after you use a paper towel, throw it away in the garbage.
The Dishwasher! My husband believes he is an extraordinary loader of the dishwasher. He is constantly unpacking and re-loading the dishes that I have rinsed and put away. Now, while this normally wouldn’t bother me, and I would greatly appreciate the extra help around the kitchen, the way he re-loads the dishwasher holds about 40% fewer dishes, which means all those extra dishes in the sink, yeah, I’m going to be washing those after the kids are in bed. Please, I know what I’m doing, and yes, we really can fit 32 plastic cups in the top rack.
Socks! My husband refuses to put his socks in the dirty clothes. I swear, if I didn’t pick them up on a regular basis you wouldn’t be able to see our bedroom floor. I know what you’re thinking…just leave them, eventually he will run out of clean ones and have to wash them, right? I know, but my Type A personality just cannot stand the clutter for that long; the man has A LOT of socks!
Linens! It is much easier for my husband to get the girls’ duvet covers on. He is taller with much longer arms, so every once in a while I ask him to do it. He graciously accepts the task, but EVERY SINGLE time he puts them on, he doesn’t button the bottoms. So, by the end of the first night, the cover is half falling out. Why, why is it so hard to button them? You’ve already done the hardest part, just finish the job! I won’t even get into the sheets and towels…
Are any of these actions really that offensive, no, just annoying, but you hear what I’m saying, right? Queue my girl Taylor, I’m going to try my damnedest just to SHAKE IT OFF!
